1. Install & Activate the Theme #
In the WordPress dashboard, upload the theme zip file from Appearance > Themes
2. Install & Activate Recommended Plugins #
After the theme is activated, a list of recommended plugins will be displayed at the top of the WordPress admin area. Install and activate those plugins by selecting ‘Begin installing plugins’.
Be sure that you both “Install” and “Activate” the plugins in order to make them functional.
3. Import the Demo Data #
The quickest way to setup your theme to mirror the demo is to import demo content.
Demo content will be available within the “All Files & Documentation” download package.
There are two demo content files: an .xml
file for posts and pages and a .wie
file for widgets.
Importing the .xml
File #
Navigate to Tools > Import and select WordPress. Install the WordPress Importer plugin. Activate and run the importer.
Next upload the demo content XML file with the WordPress importer.
Check the ‘Download and import file attachments’ option after clicking ‘Upload file and import’. This will import demo images.
Importing widgets with the .wie
file #
Install and active the Widget Importer & Exporter plugin
Navigate to Tools > Widget Importer & Exporter
Choose the .wie
file and import.
4. Assign Home and Blog Pages #
From the Reading Settings of your WordPress site, assign the Home page as the ‘Front page’ and the Blog page as the ‘Posts page’. reading.png The text displayed on the home page is entered as the home page’s content. Because the home page demo content text is white, it may not be visibile from the “Visual” tab. Select the “Text” tab instead. home-content.jpg
5. Assign Menus #
With your demo content imported, you can now assign the demo navigation menu at Appearance > Menus: menus.png
In the demo, the footer is using the Custom Menu widget in the Footer Left widget area with “Footer Menu” selected:
6. Theme Options #
All theme options can be adjusted live in the WordPress customizer located at:
Appearance > Customizer
