This document covers the installation and use of the theme and is intended to get your site up and running quickly.

Quick Setup

  1. Install & Activate the Theme

    Download the 'All files & documentation' folder from your Envato Market download area.


    Unzip the 'All files & documentation' folder and only upload/activate the "" file from within the download package.

  2. Install & Activate Recommended Plugins

    After the theme is activated, a list of recommended plugins will be displayed at the top of the WordPress admin area. Install and activate those plugins by selecting 'Begin installing plugins'.

    Be sure that you both "Install" and "Activate" the plugins in order to make them functional.

    The installation process may take a few moments on some hosts, so please be patient.

    If you are importing the demo content, WooCommerce shop pages will be included so you can select "Skip Setup" when prompted to install WooCommerce Pages:

  3. Import the Demo Data

    The quickest way to setup your theme to mirror the demo is to import demo content.

    Demo content will be available within the "All Files & Documentation" download package.

    There are two demo content files: an .xml file for posts and pages and a .wie file for widgets.

    Navigate to Tools > Import and select WordPress. Install the WordPress Importer plugin. Activate and run the importer.

    Next upload the demo content XML file with the WordPress importer.

    Check the 'Download and import file attachments' option after clicking 'Upload file and import'. This will import demo images.

    Install and active the Widget Importer & Exporter plugin

    Navigate to Tools > Widget Importer & Exporter

    Choose the .wie file and import.

  4. Assign Home and Blog Pages

  5. From the Reading Settings of your WordPress site, assign the Home page as the 'Front page' and the Blog page as the 'Posts page'.

  6. Assign Menus

  7. With your demo content imported, you can now assign the demo navigation menu at Apperance > Menus:


    The "Social Menu" will display social media icons.

    If you aren't importing the demo content which includes a demo social menu, you can create your own by using a custom link menu item and entering the name of the social service, linking to your social account.

  8. Theme Options

    All theme options can be adjusted live in the WordPress customizer located at:

    Appearance > Customizer

    To assign a specific page to display your home page content, navigate to:

    Appearance > Customizer > Home Page > "Select the page that will display the main home page content."

  9. Not Importing the Demo XML File?
  10. If you aren't importing the demo data included with the theme, then at a minimum you'll want to create a "Home" and "Blog" page.

    • Home
    • Create a page called "Home" and assign the Home Template to it.

    • Blog Page
    • Create a page called "Blog". No special template needs to be assigned to this page

    • Assign Home and Blog Pages

    • From the Reading Settings of your WordPress site, assign the Home page as the 'Front page' and the Blog page as the 'Posts page'.



This theme includes multiple widetized areas.

Widgets can be added to these areas by navigating to "Appearance > Widgets"

Widget Visibility

Control which pages your widgets appear on with Jetpack's Widget Visibility feature.

Activate widget visibility at: Jetpack > Settings > Activate Widget Visibility

To control visibility, expand the widget and click the Visibility button next to the Save button, and then, choose a set of visibility options.

For example, if you wanted the Top Products widget to only appear on the home page, choose "Show" from the first dropdown and then add the rule: "Page is Home".

You can also hide widgets based on the current page. For example, if you don't want the Recent Posts widget to appear on shop pages, choose "Hide" and add each shop page.

Contact Page

Assign the "Contact" template to a page:

You can create an unlimited number of contact forms for your site. Activate the Jetpack contact module to use the contact form generator:

To add a full width Google map to the top of your contact page, navigate to the customizer contact page settings:

Beer Directory

Entering beer is as simple as creating a post. Once activated, the Beer Directory plugin enables a beer post type for you to input and categorize your beer:

To display your beer, paste the beer shortcode and adjust the attributes to your liking.

Example shortcode attributes available:

[beer count="5" orderby="title" category="american-ale" id="34"]

You can use the shortcode without any attributes and it will display all of the beer posts as a list:


To display a single beer, enter the post id of the beer you want to display:

[beer id="34"]

The shortcode can be adjusted to display the following:

Store Locator

Once activated, the Store Locator Plus plugin allows you to enter the locations that your product is available and display those locations on a Google map.

The Brewery theme is using the "Default Theme WP 2015 Rev 1" map theme:

The Brewery theme is optimized for WooCommerce version 2.3+.

These are some basic steps to get your online shop up and running quickly. For complete instructions, please visit the WooCommerce site.

If you imported the demo .xml file content outlined in the "Quick Setup" section above, select "Skip Setup" if WooCommerce asks you to create shop pages. Those pages were already imported and installing them again will just make duplicates.

Once you have the plugin installed and the shop pages created, navigate to "WooCommerce > Settings > Products" and make sure that the main shop page is assigned:

If images are blurry, you may need to regenerate the thumbnails with the Regenerate Thumbnail plugin as described in the WooCommerce documentation

Rescue Shortcodes

This plugin will add a shortcode dropdown in your WordPress editor. It's as simple as selecting from the dropdown the shortcode you'd like in your post or page.

You can also paste a shortcode into a text widget and place it in any widgetized area of the theme.
